All bull calves are weaned in the fall and wintered as inexpensively as possible. After the bulls are weaned they are wintered with the mature herd bulls and any coming 2 year olds that have not been sold. There diet consists of what ever they can find to eat on the range. These bulls are never pampered. They do not receive any free choice hay or grain only free choice grass. They are grown slowly in the winter and really pop in the spring and summer months. I believe that bulls developed in these conditions will easily outlast any bull developed on a hot ration.
